Velvet Underground Biography

Few rock groups can claim to have broken so much new territory, and maintain such consistent brilliance on record, as the Velvet Underground during their brief lifespan. It was the group's lot to be ahead of, or at least out of step with, their time. The mid-to-late '60s was an era of explosive growth and experimentation in rock, but the Velvets' innovations — which blended the energy of rock with the sonic adventurism of the avant-garde, and introduced a new degree of social realism and sexual kinkiness into rock lyrics — were too abrasive for the mainstream to handle. During their time, the group experienced little commercial success; though...

Sonic Youth Biography

Time warp back to the '60s. Pop songs, ditties, the British Invasion, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, blah blah blah. With very few exceptions, pop-rock music was all about tunefulness - about making music that was pleasing to the ear. Of course there was an undercurrent of avant-garde and modern classical composers putting a dent in this wall of perfect harmony, but nothing that rocked the boat on a very large scale. As the years dragged on, the ear-pleasing hits multiplied, and despite innovations from Hendrix, The Velvet Underground and their ilk, the discovery of noise and discordance took a long time to catch on. The '60s rolled into the '70s,...

Cliff Diving Lyrics by +44

FREE DOWNLOAD Cliff Diving BY +44Hey silly girl, I think I got a thing for you. From late nights spent driving in this stolen car.The years we wasted living in this desert town,Haven't broken up so far.Hot afternoons, we'd climb onto the neighbors house.Breathed deep and jumped into a waiting sky.Our bare feet were framed on the horizon.I felt the future in your eyes.It was the promise of summer. We'll seal it with a kiss. This time I'll do things proper. How did it get to this?Dear you, tonight let's get ahead of ourselves,Past now, I barely can remember.Yesterday stretched on for so long.Tomorrow feels like forever. My God, you know how much I needed this. These days are filled with such disaster.Sometimes I think that life will never be the same.Sometimes I think that's the answer. And she said,...

Abandoned Love Lyrics Bob Dylan

free Abandoned Love Lyrics Bob DylanI can hear the turning of the keyI've been deceived by the clown inside of me.I thought that he was righteous but he's vainOh, something's a-telling me I wear the ball and chain. My patron saint is a-fighting with a ghostHe's always off somewhere when I need him most. The Spanish moon is rising on the hillBut my heart is a-tellin' me I love ya still.I come back to the town from the flaming moonI see you in the streets, I begin to swoon.I love to see you dress before the mirrorWon't you let me in your room one time 'fore I finally disappear?Everybody's wearing a disguiseTo hide what they've got left behind their eyes. But me, I can't cover what I amWherever the children go I'll follow them.I march in the parade of libertyBut as long as I love you I'm not free.How...
